I’ve been teaching myself how to use Canva for a hot minute now. What started out as something I kind of enjoyed has turned into something I really love doing.

Over the last few months, I’ve taken on a new role at the gym, which means I’ve got a few new responsibilities outside of just coaching. One of them has been updating all the old flyers and signage they’ve been using for years. And when I say years, I mean… years. I think they were made in Publisher, which tells you everything you need to know. It was definitely time for an update.

When I first graduated high school, graphic design was something I thought I might enjoy, but I never pursued it. I’ve revisited the idea a few times over the years, but it never quite felt like the right path for me. Funny enough, this new role kind of brought that interest back around… and while it’s not exactly graphic design, it’s close enough that it scratches that creative itch. And honestly? I freakin love it.

I’ve had so much fun working on these projects. With each one, I feel like I get a little better and a little more creative. It’s been such a cool way to bring two things I love together. Gymnastics and design.

Who would’ve thought being a gymnastics coach would also give me a chance to be creative? Life’s funny that way. You think you’re just taking on a few extra tasks, and suddenly you’ve found this whole other thing that lights you up.

So now, I guess you could say I’m a Canva template maker by morning and a gymnastics coach by evening . And I’m seriously loving both sides of it.
